This week at Vineyard Adventurers we have been thinking about animal classification linking to our year 1 science learning.  In our outdoor space we discussed different foods animals like to eat and how we can classify them using the words: carnivore, herbivore and omnivore.  We thought about the birds that visit our space and how to attract them.  We made two types of bird feeder, one for a herbivore and one for an omnivore and put them out.  We planned and built hides and tried to be as quiet as possible so that the birds would visit.  We used binoculars to help us observe the different types of birds.  We were very excited when a fox came to visit and ate one of the bird feeders.
