Week beginning 27th March 2023

There has been a hive of activity in Reception this week.

In maths, we have been learning to recognise and represent numbers 11 to 15.

In phonics and topic, we have been learning new keywords and red words which helped us to retell the Easter story in our English books.

We were also excited to welcome a special visitor this week, Layla’s mummy, Sara who came to share with us the festival of Ramadan, and we discussed the similarities with other festivals that we have learnt about. We were even given a special lantern to take home.

In the Creation Station, we made Easter decoration made from salt dough and decorated them. We finished off the week wearing our own hats to raise money for Brain Tumour Research.

Our keywords this week:

Topic: Easter, disciples, festival, cross, tomb

Maths: composition (bigger numbers are made up of smaller numbers)

Red words: because, want and have

Key Messages:

Have a lovely school break! The children have worked so hard this term, and we are so proud of them.
