It is the summer term and the sun is shining brightly on our school (for now)! For the next 6 weeks we will be recommending a book from a different culture. Let us start with:
The Katha Chest by Radhiah Chowdhury
Reading Age: reception - year 3
Genre: family, culture & historical-fiction
In my opinion this book is a hidden gem. It is beautifully woven tale about the bonds of love, culture, and memory follows a young girl learning about her family history through her grandmother’s katha chest.

Earlier this week, our amazing school librarian came to tell me about an inspiring book which has been enjoyed by many children. Mrs Jain, our school librarian, is always more than happy to recommend books to the children if they are stuck finding a book!
