Friday 11th November

Dear all families,

As part of our assemblies today we have marked Remembrance day by holding a minute’s silence. During this time we thought about all those who have fought in wars in the past as well as those affected by war today.

The weeks are racing by and before we know it it will be Christmas! So time to start thinking about the various events that will take place. Please check the calendar on the website for the dates of our carol services and nativity plays. Not to forget the Christmas Fair that the PTA are busy organising.

Smile for Five

Thank you so much for your incredible support and generosity for the Smile for Five initiative.

We are overwhelmed with the impact it has had already inside our school. The classrooms and corridors have been filled with uplifting smiles and positivity that has made us all feel that bit happier, more confident and especially empowered throughout our day. Teachers have welcomed seeing the children’s wonderful smiles and new connections are being made between children.

Where to buy the badges:

  •  After school on the school drive using card or cash (Tuesday-Friday)

  • From the school office

  • At lunchtime in cash from Ms McArdle and Miss Reilly’s office (an option for those that go to clubs after school)

If you haven’t had a chance to purchase one yet, we will continue to sell them up until next Friday. All profits will be going to a mental health project in school that all children will benefit from. When the plans are in place, we will notify all parents on how the money raised has been spent through the school newsletter.

Wishing you a lovely weekend and good luck to The Red Roses who are playing New Zealand in the Rugby World Cup final.

Parent Teacher Meetings 29th November 1.30pm-4pm and 1st December 4pm-7pm - UPDATE

Due to technical issues we were unable to allocate appointments for parents of SEND children on Monday 7th November. This will now happen on Monday 14th November with the rest of the appointments going live on 21st November.

Anti-Bullying Week

Next week is anti-bullying week and the theme is ‘Reach Out’. The children will all be joining a workshop on Wednesday and our assemblies will focus on what bullying is, what the children can do if they or one of their friends are being bullied and who they can reach out to. The children can wear odd socks (the socks can be non-uniform) on Wednesday. They need to bring £1 which will cover the cost of the workshops.

Year 5&6 morning drop off

Palmerston Gate is open between 8.30 and 8.40am. Please tell your children to wait by the gate until it has been opened. If your child is running late and arriving after 8.40am then they need to go straight to the main gate.

Safeguarding Update

We are delighted to tell you all that before half-term we had a safeguarding audit which has said safeguarding at The Vineyard is highly effective. Thank you to those who were stopped at the gate that morning and asked some questions. The audit will be on the website soon for you all to read.
