What Our Staff Say

At The Vineyard School, we pride ourselves on supporting and developing our workforce. We are fortunate to have a huge breadth of experience within our teaching and support staff. We nurture a number of newly-qualified teachers (NQTs) each year, as well as individuals on the ‘School Direct’ programme. Some of our colleagues have entered teaching having already spent their professional lives in a completely different industry. Following in the footsteps of their children, we have even attracted colleagues to work with us after learning more about school life through their sons and daughters.

As a staff, we add a great deal to the already diverse nature of our school community. However, what we all have in common is our commitment to the personal and academic development of our pupils:

Former Vineyard parent and KS2 class teacher:

“I have been actively involved with The Vineyard School for the last 28 years in a wide variety of different capacities. I chose this school for my own children, and during their school career I was on the PTA Committee and also a Governor, and then was fortunate enough to became a teacher here 20 years ago. During this time there have been 4 Headteachers and they have all brought their own vision for making our school the best that it can be. All made changes along the way, but what has never changed is the ethos and commitment from every staff member here, to work hard for the best possible outcome for every child. This is just as true today as it was when my  4-year old daughter started in Reception. The Vineyard really is a unique place, one where every child is nurtured and can thrive, and where every adult is supported and challenged to make this happen!”

School Direct graduate:

“Partaking in a School Direct teacher training course is a daunting process. However, my experience of doing this through The Vineyard was made entirely positive by all who work there. I had two fantastic, nurturing mentors who highlighted the general caring attitude throughout the school. I was well looked after and continuously pushed to be my best. The Vineyard is a school with inspiring values, high expectations and it is a pleasure to be a part of this fantastic community.”

KS1 TLSA & Emotional Literacy Support Assistant (ELSA):

“I work as part of a large team of great TLSAs with positive, helpful attitudes and under the guidance of outstanding teaching staff. Our SEN provision is extensive and the care, expertise and collaborative work we provide ensures every child is happy and able to participate in all aspects of school life - a true reflection of our school value of being inclusive. The most rewarding part of my role as a TLSA is getting to know the pupils; their individual abilities and personalities; and supporting them in their incredible learning journey. And, of course, it’s wonderful being welcomed by their generous smiles and genuinely warm hellos.”
