Dear all families,
Despite spring approaching, the daffodils Ms Collier encouraged us all to plant flowering, it has been a very cold and wet week. It is essential that all children come to school with an appropriate coat as the children go outside as much as possible during break and lunchtimes, so they need to be able to wrap up and keep dry.
The year one assemblies have been delightful. I am so proud of the children who have been learning how to be scientists. They have been observing plants and making predictions before carrying out their investigations to find out what plants need to grow. They knew the characteristics of deciduous and evergreen trees and even did a little quiz for the families to check they had been listening.
The resources have been ordered for Creative Arts' Week which promises to be great fun culminating in an art exhibition on Friday 24th March - please see the dates below for times. All I know is 90 squares of calico have been cut for one year group which are then going to be sewn together by a parent or two. There has been lots of clay and tissue paper ordered, and the theme is 'Fairy Tales'.
Next week, the parent teacher meetings are on Monday and Tuesday. Followed by two days of teacher strikes the letter can be found here. Thank you for your continuing support and understanding.
As always if you ever want to ask me a question or discuss an aspect of school life please do catch me on the gate or email me.
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend.
Best wishes,
Frances Bracegirdle
