Friday 16th December

Dear all families,

I have thoroughly enjoyed joining the children in KS2 at the church for their carol concerts. Their singing was beautiful, the Year 3 children read their lines confidently and the behaviour of all your wonderful children was excellent. KS1 have also been singing and performing Christmas poems. The hall was packed with families and the children sung their hearts out.  Over the last two weeks I have felt very proud of all the children, and it has been lovely to see so many of you attend our various events. Thank you!

We’ve also eaten Christmas lunch, continued our learning and played in the snow. It’s been a very busy time and the children and adults are all ready for a rest as I am sure you are too!

Wishing you all a very happy Christmas and a wonderful break.

See you in 2023!

Safeguarding

Please see the link for advice on the dangers of frozen water.

For some children and families, home isn’t a safe place. If you have heard or seen anything that makes you concerned about a child’s safety, even if you are unsure, please contact SPA (Single Point of Access) on 020854765008 from 8am to 6pm or 02087705000 out of hours, to speak to a professional for advice, support or information.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility #KeepOurChildrenSafe

If you think a child is in immediate danger you should call 999.

Attendance

Well done to Year 2 for the best attendance this week. The attendance this week has been very low. From next term, any absences either side of a holiday will be unauthorised unless we receive medical proof. In order to be rated good or above by Ofsted, our attendance must be above 96%. Well done to those children who have attendance above 96%. You will know your child's attendance from a letter today.

Last day of term finish times going forward

We are changing our end of term times to 1.45pm. All children will stay and have lunch as normal on these days.

Parent Teacher Meetings

These will now take place between 3.45 and 6.30/7pm. The children will have a normal school day and not be sent home early. The next parent teacher meetings are on 14th and 16th March.

Upcoming Events

E-safety workshop for parents 26/01/23 at 6.30pm in the hall. Peter Cowley will be delivering a comprehensive and extremely important workshop on how to keep children safe on the internet.

Art, History and Geography curriculum workshop 03.02.2023 from 2-3pm in the hall. An opportunity to come and find out about how we have designed our curriculum and what we are teaching in these subjects. This will be followed by an open classroom event between 3.45 and 4pm where you children can showcase what they have been learning by showing you their books.
