Come and see what KS1 have been up to in this festive week!
We have had a busy but exciting last week in Year 1! Thank you to everyone who came to support us in our Christmas show, we hope you enjoyed it as much as we did. In DT we finished off our cookery lessons by making our own fruit salads. We learnt how to safely use the knives to chop the fruit and made sure they were bright and colourful. In History we made Victorian style Pomanders. To do this we carefully pushed cloves into oranges, they smelled lovely! We loved comparing a Victorian Christmas decorations to how we celebrate today. We hope you all have a wonderful Christmas holiday, thank you for a great term.
Reminder - all reading books are changed on a Thursday and returned on Fridays.
Please note our school trip to the London Zoo is on Friday 2nd December 2022. Make sure to bring a packed lunch on that day and arrive at 8:20am.
Common expectations words for this week are class, pass, whole, who, phone and alphabet.
This week we have been working very hard with our alternative version of The Snowman in English. In maths we have finished off our money topic and will be starting Multiplication and division next term! We had an exciting DT lesson as we made our own pizza! In History we looked at how monarchs celebrated Christmas over the years and we wrote our own Christmas speech. Thank you to everyone who came to watch our show this week. We worked very hard and so we hope you enjoyed it!
- Reminder - all reading records should be in bags everyday. As we are moving away from phonics next half term please note the phonics portal is still up to use over the holidays.
