Band of The Week

The following musicians had a fantastic music session over the last two weeks.

Year 4

Tom (Zircon) – Well done for working hard to position and play all three ukulele chords. All the focused effort you’re putting in now will have a positive impact on your playing. Keep up the good work!

Defne (Carnelian) – Great job developing your finger positions for the ukulele chords. You can now play all three chords accurately, with a clear and even tone. Well done!

Oliver (Onyx) – Well done for working hard to improve your ability to pluck fret notes clearly. You are showing resilience and determination to improve your playing. Keep up the great work!

Raphael (Zircon) – You modelled rest position and "ready to play" brilliantly today. Everyone in the class was clear on their expectations thanks to your clear instructions. Thank you for your positive contribution to the session.

Alan (Carnelian) – You followed all of our classroom expectations, including "Be Respectful." You did this by always following the class signal in rest position and ready to play. You are fretting your notes really well and developing your skills as a ukulele player. Keep up the great work!

Year 5

Massi (Moonstone) – Well done for setting a really good example to the rest of the group by consistently following our class expectations. You showed excellent listening during our song analysis and contributed to the feedback in an effective manner.

Karim (Starlite) – You made insightful contributions to our song analysis today, and I was particularly impressed with how you connected the theme of the song to specific examples in the lyrics. Keep up the great work!

Max G (Peridot) – Over a number of sessions, you have shown real focus in developing your musical skills. Most notably, I am impressed with the effort you put into your singing. Keep up the great work! 

Aydin (Moonstone) – I was very impressed with your creativity during today’s session. You showed great focus by coming up with lots of ideas for your word bank. Keep up the good work!

Aryan (Starlite) – Good job showing focus during the session and working with your group to develop lyrical ideas.

Luke (Peridot) – Well done for working well within your composition group today. You contributed some strong ideas to your group’s lyric-writing task.

Year 6

Fletcher (Garnet) – Great job learning the bass riff on the keys by ear and applying it to our band piece. Your musicality has a truly positive impact on the music we make in class and across the wider school. You should be very proud of all the hard work you’ve put into your playing and the positive impact it has on other people.

Kerem (Kyanite) – Well done for nominating yourself as the singer on the microphone. Your willingness to take on this role encouraged others to give it a try too. You’ve been a positive influence on the rest of the group – great job!

Deniz (Jet) – Well done for showing real focus and dedication in improving your instrumental part. Your positive participation in the band sets a fantastic example for the rest of the class. Keep up the great work!
