Music Day – Tuesday 24 March

Music Day, a day dedicated to celebrating music at The Vineyard, will be coming up at the end of Spring term. We are once again looking for young Vineyard musicians to perform at our evening concert on Tuesday 24 March. If your child would be interested in a performance slot please sign up here

We'd also like your children's musical drawings for the Music Day poster! The theme is "Musical Instruments". Please drop any  pictures in to the office by Friday 30 January.

In lessons year 4 and 5 have been learning about...

Year 4 – This week, Year 4 have been learning how to identify pitches on the musical stave. They showed fantastic focus while completing their worksheets. Next week, they will be putting this knowledge into practice by playing notes on tuned percussion.

Year 5 – The children have been getting their creative minds working through a lyric-writing task. Each small group has begun rewriting an established song by maintaining the melody and rhythm while changing the lyrics. Next week, they will enhance their lyrics by adding similes and metaphors.

Congratulations to the following performers:

Our prospective families were treated to music played by Annushka (year 4) on the piano and sung by Valentina (year 6). Well done to both children for their excellent performances.
A big well done to Yagmur from Year 6, who wowed our KS1 children with her fantastic violin playing. Yagmur performed the piece Rebecca, and the children had the opportunity to express how the music made them feel. We were all inspired by her performance and wish her the very best of luck in her upcoming grade exam.

Exam success:
