KS1 News

Find out what KS1 have been up to here!

Year 1

It has been another great week in Year 1. In particular we have enjoyed being sound detectives in Science to explore one of our 5 senses, hearing! We used the iPads to identify different sounds and think about what might have made them. In English we have been writing our own acrostic Christmas themed poems. We came up with lots of Christmas themed words starting with E, L and F to spell elf! The poems the children wrote were wonderful and got us all in the Christmas spirit. In Maths we have been re-capping 2D and 3D shapes. We enjoyed going on a shape hunt around the school and spotting different shapes all around us.

Year 2

It has been a great week in Year 2. We have been designing our own pizzas in DT. We used our fantastic knowledge of a balanced diet to help us decide what to include in our yummy pizzas. In science we have been learning about food chains and what consumers and producers are. In maths we have been learning about the different properties of 2D and 3D shapes. In English we have been learning about poetry and we wrote our own fun poem on our favourite animals. We also performed a few exciting poems! In RE we researched how different countries celebrate Christmas. How do you celebrate Christmas?
