Music Curriculum Update

Rehearsals for this year’s Carol Concert began this week, with each year group learning the words and melody line for Winter Carol.

Our Year 6 musicians are preparing to record their opera-inspired compositions, which will be sent to the English National Opera and published on their website.

Some of our Year 2 groups have completed their first ‘Keys to Success’ sticker chart and enjoyed a class karaoke and dance party as their reward. They had lots of fun singing and dancing with the disco lights on to their favourite songs.

Here are some highlights from our Year 3 musicians from this week’s sessions.

Lilac (Sapphire) – You followed our musical expectations brilliantly today. I could see how focused you were on learning the lyrics and melody of Winter Carol. Well done for setting such a good example to the rest of the group on how to participate as a vocalist during rehearsal!

Lyra (Ruby) – A big well done for always following all of our musical expectations in every session. I was particularly impressed with how hard you worked to learn the tricky parts of our new Christmas song. You set a fantastic example to the rest of the group. Keep up the great work!

Rosie (Emerald) – A big well done for always following all of our musical expectations in every session. I was especially impressed with your focus and determination when learning the new Christmas song. Your positive attitude and effort set a brilliant example to the rest of the group. Keep up the fantastic work
