Music News

What has been happening in music this week?

Year 2

Our Year 2 musicians have been composing their own two-bar rhythms and performing them to the rest of the class. We’ve really enjoyed seeing them Kung Fu and clap the rhythms accurately, and we have admired their creativity when choosing Ta, Te-Te, and rest rhythms.

Year 4

Our Year 4 musicians have been applying their knowledge of the musical stave to play Tideo on tuned percussion instruments. It was wonderful to hear them all playing together as a focused ensemble.

Year 6

Year 6 musicians are preparing for their performance of Everyday People by Sly and the Family Stone in their class bands. They can’t wait to show you their fantastic musicianship at 2:30pm on 17th March in the Small Hall.

A huge well done to Nefin for performing Für Elise during this week’s KS1 assembly. Nefin played the piece beautifully, and our audience were wowed by her accomplished playing. They also enjoyed asking Nefin questions about the piano, and I hope it will inspire others to begin their own musical journey on an instrument.
