Gems children had a fantastic time participating in all the exciting activities at the Year 6 Enterprise afternoon, thank you Year 6.

   

    

 

The Reception boys enjoyed being paleontologists for the morning, participating in the Dino workshop.

    

 

In Gems’ English lessons, we are reading The Koala Who Could (for 4 weeks).

Here are some of the Attention Bucket activities for stage 4: 

  • Dressing a ladybird

  • Tessellation shapes (Following/copying a given pattern)

  • Building a house out of straws (2D version)

Useful resources we use in Gems: 

 

Messages: 

Please write in your child's reading record every time you hear your child read at home. We recommend reading daily with your child. 

When reading with your child, you can: 

  • enjoy reading other stories to them

  • stop half way through and predict the ending

  • talk about the story

  • make links to other books

  • retell the story

  • answer a few questions about the story

 

Gems PE Days:

Reception children - Thursday

Year 1 – Wednesday and Thursday 

Year 2 – Tuesday and Wednesday

 

Dates:   

  • Possible new date for sports day - still to be announced

  • 2nd July: Y2 trip to Hampton Court Royal Historic Palace

  • 15th July - reports go home

  • 17th July: Last day - school closes at 1.30
