Year 5

As we come to the end of another fantastic school year, it is hard to believe that our incredible Year 5 children are almost ready to begin their final year at primary school. What a privilege it has been to watch them grow in confidence, independence and resilience over the past year. We are so proud of everything they have achieved. Every child has worked incredibly hard, embraced new challenges and filled our classrooms with curiosity, kindness and laughter.

We are especially proud of the enthusiasm and determination the children have shown throughout the year. Whether performing confidently in our wonderful space-themed class assemblies, giving energetic Djembe drumming performances or taking part in our Festival of Sport, they have thrown themselves into every opportunity with positivity and teamwork. It has been a joy to watch them encourage one another, celebrate each other's successes and grow in confidence.

This year has been packed with unforgettable experiences. The children made lifelong memories during our residential trip to Juniper Hall, where they challenged themselves, learnt new outdoor skills, spent time in nature and enjoyed the excitement of staying away with friends. Our visit to the Science Museum brought our learning to life as we explored the wonders of space and experimented with forces, while our fieldwork around the local area allowed the children to develop their geography skills. The children loved dressing up as Vikings at Fulham Palace, as well as immersing themselves in WW1 at Richmond Park. They also produced spectacular paintings and drawings in Art and demonstrated fantastic creativity in Design and Technology by engineering strong bridges, sewing felt pouches and cooking delicious curries.

As the children prepare to move into Year 6, they do so with a wealth of wonderful memories, new skills and growing confidence. They have shown resilience when faced with challenges, kindness towards one another and a genuine enthusiasm for learning. We know they are more than ready for the exciting opportunities that await them in their final year at The Vineyard.

Thank you to all of our families for your continued encouragement and support throughout the year. We wish everyone a happy, restful and well-deserved summer break, and we look forward to welcoming the children back in September for an exciting Year 6.

Year 6

As we come to the end of another wonderful year, it’s hard to believe that it is time to say goodbye to our incredible Year 6 children. What a privilege it has been to watch them grow in confidence, resilience and maturity over the past year. We are three very proud and lucky teachers! Every child has worked so hard, embraced every opportunity and filled our classrooms with laughter, kindness and enthusiasm.

We are especially proud of the commitment and dedication they have shown in preparing for their end-of-year production. From learning lines and songs to supporting one another through rehearsals, they have thrown themselves into every moment. We know you will be as proud as we are when you see them perform this week - you are in for a real treat.

This year has been packed with unforgettable experiences. The children loved designing and making their own birdhouses and burgers in D&T; immersed themselves in fantastic books such as The Final Year, Kensuke’s Kingdom and Holes; and created lifelong memories during our amazing week at PGL. They worked incredibly hard in the lead-up to SATs and we are sure they will be rewarded with results they will be immensely proud of. Alongside this, they showed determination as they worked towards their Vineyard Awards and took on school wide responsibilities, while continuing to learn, grow and support one another every single day.

Although it is always sad to see our Year 6 children leave The Vineyard, we know they are more than ready for the exciting adventures that lie ahead at secondary school. They leave us with wonderful memories, lasting friendships and so much to be proud of. Thank you to all our families for your unwavering support throughout the year. We wish every one of our Year 6 children happiness, success and confidence as they begin this exciting new chapter. Once a Vineyard pupil, always a part of The Vineyard family.
