The ‘Going for Great!’ platform provides children with a menu of purposeful home learning activities developing a wide range of skills that are linked to a specific theme. This places greater emphasis on certain elements: weekly spellings, Learn-Its and reading - the key skills our children require to be successful in primary school and beyond.

Please see below an example Year 6 Going for Great matrix. These particular tasks are based on the theme of 'Our Impact on Our World' and provide pupils with activities that cover most curriculum subjects. Whilst these tasks are not compulsory, we strongly encourage that parents facilitate this area of home learning to help develop their child's independence and their creative and critical thinking skills.

You class teacher will provide your child with a new Going for Great matrix at the start of each half term.
